The Border Patrol Bagpipe Memorial, situated proudly in front of the Eagen Security Building, commemorates the longstanding tradition and spirit of bagpipers within the Border Patrol. Inspired by our visit to the Border Patrol training center in Roswell, New Mexico, where we had the honor of photographing these dedicated individuals in their full uniforms, the memorial captures the essence of their role in ceremonies, law enforcement, and parades.
Bagpipes have historically been used in a variety of contexts, including military ceremonies, law enforcement, and parades. To capture every detail and measurement, the bagpiper came to our studio for an extensive photo session. The meticulous work took eight months to complete. Today, the finished cast bronze and polychrome piece stands proudly in front of the Eagen Security Building, honoring the tradition and spirit of the bagpipers in the Border Patrol.
